The Only Thing of Value

"The only thing of value you have to share with anyone else is what I have done for you."

Let me help. God

Bob But this happened that we might not rely upon ourselves but on God (2 Cor 1:9 NIV)

(Dec 08) The young woman tearfully said, "It's so hard!" At one time or another, each of us has said the same to God. When I sought the Lord on this matter, He simply said,

It's not that it's so hard. It's that you're so weak.

I thought about His answer for almost two years before finally asking, "Why is it that we're so weak?" I received the answer on a cloudy December morning, hiking by the cascade falls of the Little Duck River.

It's the human condition. And the sooner you understand and admit it, the sooner you'll come to Me for help.

Self-Reliance or God-Dependence? The world trains us to be self-reliant, but this is not the way of the Kingdom. At the heart of self-reliance is the perception that we are strong. But God knows how weak we really are. Exchanging our worldly habit of self-reliance for dependence upon God usually does not happen until we hit something too big to handle. It's a hard way to learn. But would anything less suffice?
