The Only Thing of Value

"The only thing of value you have to share with anyone else is what I have done for you."

You can't run on empty. God

Bob Rev 2:4-5 - Yet I hold this against you. You have lost your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen. Repent, and do the things you did at first.

(Nov 2008) For the past week the Lord has been showing me how constantly He has loved and cared for me throughout all the years of my life. God's word exhorts us

Eph 3:19 - . . . to know this love that surpasses knowledge.

The Lord does not want me to settle for a mere head-knowledge of His love. He wants me to experience His love. His agape love for me is the wellspring of my own unconditional love for others, plus my service to Him. I must return often and drink deeply from the well of God's love. Or as the Holy Spirit says to me,

You can't run on empty.

That is what I foolishly attempt to do whenever I neglect my love relationship with the Lord. Whenever I try to run on empty, things invariably end up badly. Another time He asked me,

Intimacy takes time. What are you willing to give up so you can be more intimate with Me?

For me, staying filled with God's love means T-I-M-E. It means time in the Word, in prayer, in praise and worship, time witnessing and serving, and occasionally a wilderness hike or a spiritual retreat for an extended stay in His Presence. It also means giving up certain things so I will have time for Him. The relationship I have with God comes with a PRICE, but the relationship I have with Him is PRICELESS!
